This is a guide on how to learn japanese from anime. learning japanese from anime, though not easy, is totally feasible. if you do a search for “how to learn japanese from anime” online, you’ll find a lot of articles and videos. in some of them, people are arguing about whether or not it’s even possible. i only ever watch anime. I’ve been known in the past to say you can’t learn japanese from anime… and that’s still quite true. the amount of people out there who watch thousands of hours of (admittedly addicting) anime under the pretense that they’re “learning” japanese is startling.. Best answer: not hard, watching anime only requires you to understand spoken japanese. the hard part of japanese is the writing system, so that's out of the way. apart from the writing system, most of everything in japanese is regular and fairly easy to learn..
Some people are afraid to learn japanese because they will be associated with weebs and those strange otakus who also happen to watch anime. so is wanting to watch anime without subtitles a good. Nowadays i actually don’t watch the anime anymore since i’ve switched to the manga. when i first started learning japanese the manga was entering (what seems like) the final arc, and my decision was that i cared too much about the story to try reading it’s end with half-assed japanese.. I’d recommend you watch dramas, and lots of them, rather than anime. find some everyday ones that depict elements of real life: how people interact with family members, lovers, and coworkers..
